It'll work Ewan. The max. aperture will be reduced to f/4 though.

Are you sure you will get it? If you were eligible for the student on youth allowance money, then you would have gotten it by now. If you were waiting for the tax payer package, then unless you earned over the tax free threshold last year, you wont see a dollar of it.

This is indeed correct. I am quite upset!! :p

I don't actually know the details. All I know is what my mum told me and that is that I'm getting it somehow.

Ok, glad I didn't just post my rates ;-)a

Yeah better to charge something and be affordable than charge nothing, as they'll value the work more for having paid for it.

Yeah, it's exactly that. They've come to me through seeing the shots I took for my other mates band so knowing that I know them as well, they might have expected something cheaper and I think what I've put out is fair enough for both parties.

I had a massive argument with people the other week about asking for more money from the first mates band. They all seemed to think that all I do is click a button, none of them understood that I'm the same as the band. We're both young and doing what we love and want to continue doing as we get older as well as paying off equipment and the like.

What are your rates exactly? ;) haha.

Good good, because this weekend is my jungle trip and I would like to have that extra reach. Ill probably be using fill in flash as well, so f/4 might still be alright.

Now I need to decide, Tamron, Sigma or Kenko teleconvertors..

Anyone know about putting a 1.4X teleconvertor on a 70-200? Will it work? Its the Tamron model btw.

Should work fine providing the Tamron converter maintains the electrical contacts through to the lens (otherwise you'll be stuck shooting wide open).

I use a Canon 1.4 TC on my 70-200 quite often.

At least 6 times that, plus processing, prints extra.

My rate is substantially higher than $20/hr.

Depending on the work, it can be up to 5 times that...

First paid job I took, mine was $85.00 an hour. Which worked out super cheap for a wealthy Israeli diamond merchant. I didn't feel I could charge more than that as I was unsure how it would all turn out.

Everything worked out in the end though. They got their ad for some magazine, and I got some great experience in shooting the stones and putting it all together.

Sigma 1.4X

Sigma 2X

Kenko 1.4X

Kenko 2X

As far as prices go, the Tamron is the cheapest, the Sigma is 3 times more.. and Kenko is in the middle.
