Circuit City -- any deal?

I found the deal of the century. One of the local CC's had a like new

20D!!!

Well, it's the deal of the decade, right? I couldn't believe it, but there it was, on display. I believe the price was $9XX, but my wife was ready to leave and not nearly as interested in it as I was. The tag could have been for the wrong item - obviously I didn't get to find out if it was correctly tagged.

I'm guessing someone stuffed/misplaced it last century and they found it while breaking down the store.

Way back in the corner of the bottom cage a red box caught my eye. It was a 17-55 2.8 IS 30% off. Woohoo!!. Wait 10 long minutes for a sales guy with the key, watching the cage like a hawk. Finally pull out the box, open it with tears in my eyes, what do I find inside? A 18-55 kit lens! Uggggh.

I'm gonna have to look for that, it's such a ridiculously good documentary series! I snagged 3 seasons of Futurama last week for 40% off (better than I could get on ebay, so why not?)

I stopped in a few days back. Cameras and camera accessories were 10% off. I then went to Best Buy and they were cheaper than the Circuit City sale price.

Yeah 30% a 20D for 900 is $630, which is horrible.
you can get a used 40D for that.
If you really want a 20D you can get them used for about $350.

Eh, you guys don't understand, the 20D was like new, it was just really dusty. I'm buying it!

I've been incredibly sick the last week or two, busy with working 40-45 hours a week and going to school full time. I have about 10 PM's in my box I haven't even had a chance to open. I missed the deal on a G-10 at 30% off by watching the store every day. They still had four left at noon yesterday and went back this morning to check on the inventory they were all gone. Trying to get to 40% off and got bit but it took them over two weeks to sell six of these cameras and I was feeling pretty good about my chances so now I will just order from Amazon. Buying at 30% off would have saved me about $37 over Amazon but I also feel better about the returnability aspect dealing with Amazon than no chance with C.C.

I was waiting until printer inks and photo paper came down a bit and Wednesday of last week they were stocked nearly full! Went back Saturday and there was next to nothing. I figured if I was going to get the stuff, get it now while they still had it, so I stocked up. Pretty good deals too. I might go back and get some more paper while they still have it.
