I know I'm new here...but not new to marketing.

How about Canon makes a camera body that is dedicated....truly dedicated...to the photographer. Listens to every input from "the field".

(add YOUR input here)

When all the engineering is done, it's YOUR perfect camera body.

And when it's done....it's white.

A meld with those coveted lenses you see on the sidelines....

Fire away..........

bingo....
White sets it apart.
marketing my friend....that's why those other lenses are white.
Call it "heat transfer coefficients" all day long, but in the end, it's marketing.
But it's white for a reason. It's special. It's worth the price of admission. It's PERFECT.
What would make it perfect?

Don't mean to be critical but, dont you think it would show dirt faster? especially depending on the field of photography work? Its an interesting concept though.

Ever held a 1d and a 70-200 with hood on a 90 degree day in bright sunlight?

The gradient goes, hot until the edge of the hood, cool until the mount, hot for the rest.

I'm here all night long.
Keep firing...this is exactly what I'm talking about.
(and no, I'm not a Canon schill).
No, really. I'm learning from this. I hope lots of other noobs are learning from this too. Me personally, I've got one body to work with...a 50D. But I am new enough to not know what's tops and what's not. I simply enjoy what I can capture. (ignorance IS bliss!!)
But I am sure at some point in the future I will be looking for 'more'....

How 'bout a hood that's white on the outside and flat black on the inside?

Hey, talking about white cameras... did you catch that Pentax is making a limited white body with 2 lenses? Think it's the K200, so not even really Prosumerable, but still cool. Yep... marketing.

300 f4, 300 f2.8, 400 f5.6, 400 f4, 400 f2.8, 200 f1.8, 200 f2, 500 f4, 600 f4, 800 f5.6, and all the lenses they replace have white metal hoods. Why no white plastic hoods? Because they reflect a lot more and would be very annoying to look at. Like comparing a marshmallow and a piece of printer paper in sunlight. Both are white, but I won't be staring at the piece of paper too long.

The problem is, I don't think I've ever met a photographer who would ever want a white camera body. I know I wouldn't.
