I like the sleekness of mine being black. If it was white, it'd look cheap to me, even if the build quality is the same. Maybe I've just become accustom to it being black, idk.
And I wouldn't want white hoods for my lenses either, it just wouldn't look right.

So what...maybe I AM picky. ;)

If Pentax can do it why can't Canon?

As long as it matches the color of their L lenses.

I could care less what color any of my gear is.

As long as my pictures come out the way I want, I'm happy.

I understand what you're saying though - and it would work.

If the 5DmkII was white, I guarantee they would have sold more bodies.

I feel like a white camera would look cool just because it's different than what we're used to seeing. Might also look like a 'toy' almost. If it goes white, would it also go silver, blue, red, purple..etc? Black just gives the camera a professional look. I don't think I would take a wedding photographer seriously if I saw him w/a blue camera body lol (a bit extreme, I know, but you get my drift) lol

Okay, don't make fun of me...its hard to make something black into a color, let alone white. Quick edit out of curiosity. But does it look attractive to you..?

Like I said before, I'm picky. And I know if they did make a white camera, it would look 100x better than this...but like the poster above me said, black just looks more professional.
Of course, if the white camera took much better pictures, and it only came white...I'd take it...but if I had the option, I'd go with black.

Interesting idea, just in the sense that repackaging their computers in boxes with funky colours, reinvented Apple completely, and got them where they are today, backing it up with decent products.

But other than that, seriously? Daft idea...

Cheers, Dave.

How about making the lens black so that they are not so bloody obtrusive when taking street photos.

I think with frequent use it would get grimey, dirt would get in the grooves in the rubberised grips and such...I think parts where you hold it would end up an off white grey.

I don't think white would be a very practical colour for a camera body in use. :P

Are you talking about before, or after they were sold out :p
(Yes, I know that they're started to be in stock now).

I know I'm new here...but not new to marketing.

How about Canon makes a camera body that is dedicated....truly dedicated...to the photographer. Listens to every input from "the field".

(add YOUR input here)

When all the engineering is done, it's YOUR perfect camera body.

And when it's done....it's white.

A meld with those coveted lenses you see on the sidelines....

Fire away..........
