CC had the worst customer service, that's why I hate shopping there. Sales people are rude and just plain dumb!

Not just one store, my experience from 4 stores in the Dallas area.

I loved my local CC. The local BB, on the other hand is a hole.

Something strange is going on with the Circuit City liquidation, however. I went to the fire sale on Saturday, and after a half hour, and talking to a couple of sales people walked out because line to buy stuff was wrapped around the store. Everyone was in there to get the 10% off.

I checked the prices I had recorded in my Palm Pilot from before Christmas, however, and found that even with the 10%, everything was more expensive now. For example, an LCD tv I had my eye on was $300 cheaper before Christmas. As it turns out, the liquidation corporation reprices everything upward to the manufacturer's suggested, and then takes ten percent off from there.

Ironic, isn't it. If Circuit City had the same number of people buying stuff before Christmas, they would still be in business today. And those people would have gotten better prices.

Its not that odd -- its the "plan". Circuit City isn't running the liquidation, a firm called Gordon Brothers is. Gordon Brothers fronts the cash, so now its their stuff. They play on the psychology of the sale to get the early buyers for all they have. Of course, since you don't know when they are gonna run out of stuff, people buy to lock in some kind of savings.

Anyhow, its a game,

This space for rent.

From my experiences, CC was no worse than Best Buy as far as customer service goes. Once at BB I made a purchase without even being acknowledged by the cashier. No hello, no thank you, no have a nice day, no eye contact, nothing. She was too busy chatting it up with her co-worker.
