Im sure this has probably been answered before, but i couldnt find the answer. It has bothered me a lot as to why in the buy/sell forum, a thread isnt bumped to the top when a reply is made.

ussually the order of the threads goes from top to bottom with the most recently replied to thread first (going down the list, updated 1 min, 2 min, 22 min, 2 hours, etc.) but in the buy/sell it may look like (22 min, 2 hours, 4 minutes, 30 minutes, 6 minutes, 12 hours, 19 minutes, etc.)

it has just baffled me as to why this is. and this is the only section of the only forum i noticed this in. im mainly wondering because right now for example i have a thread for an item for sale. the last post in it was 4 days ago. so i replied to it with a new price, but it didnt bump to the top of the section. How are people supposed to notice the new price?

second question, does anyone think im crazy for asking this :)

Basically, it gives everyone a level playing field when it comes to selling their goods. Previously, people kept "bumping" their sale threads to keep them at the top of the list.

Now that we've defaulted the sort order to be by thread start date, everyone has an even chance (regardless of whether their adverts are bumped or not). We feel that this is fair for everyone.

If you want to see threads by last post order, you can do that by clicking the "last post" button at the top of the thread list. Many people now do this to see the most recently changes to a thread.

thats what ill do from now on. So is it "legal" to remove your thread and repost it if you lower the price? Thanks for the answer.

No, it's not legal to junk your thread and relist. Look at the relist policy sticky at the top of the sell section.
