I lied, this is a shot of the moon...but with some added spices of the heavens to go with it.
Taken near Ft Smith, NWT on Jan 17th, me & my lovely's anniversary :D ...
The green tornado brewing to the left is the aurora
(That's not her in the pic, that's a friend of mine who I shoot with)
Enjoy.

Crikey, the colours you've got in there, (is that some Aurora as well on the left? The green bit?), are just wonderful. Personally I find the angle a little off-putting, but that's just me. Really like it.

Thanks all, yup that's the aurora on the left. It was actually very very warm, and thus enabled me to go out shooting, properly, for once this winter.

It was only -10 C at the max. which for us during this season of just getting over -40 to -50 C is considered summer. I was only wearing a sweater :)

Karl,
This is an extremely cool photo. Are your friends feet lighted with just the camera screen? Came out amazing.

Yup, that would be the LCD screen, thank you, I'm happy you enjoy it.

*I also love the quote in your signature and agree with it completely

Just a word, I printed this out just now at a size of 13x19" unbordered - INSANE quality. I'm tempted to hang it on my wall. What you see on-line is not what you get, these shots are scaled down and saved as jpeg (quality=1), then re-saved and optimized for web :D so if the flickr image is pixelated or not very sharp. . it aint really.

Excellent! Lots to look at. Shame your tripod fell over as you shot it, though
