I ended up buying for 1100 at Amazon, before they could get a chance to raise their price as well.

Yeah, I want to know where there is a reputable dealer with it for 950 too - then I can get a price match.

I just got mine today from JR. I paid 1099 and now they are at 1299 also.

Prosumer cameras are a luxury item. My gut tells me that with the downeconomy, the pricing will float until they find a price that sells - and $1399 will be a slow selling point with used 40D's on the market as low as $700
