Costco must have excellent buyers because everything they sell is top quality. From meat to bakery to socks and pillows. I've had the executive membership for over 10 years, and it pays for itself.

They also provide an excellent plaquing service. It's sent out of the store, but returned in a week . Comparatively inexpensive. I've had over a hundred keepers plaqued over the years. I love it !

It's an excellent place to get very good, very cheap prints made - in an hour.

Agreed - the quality is surprisingly good considering the price - 8" x 10" glossy on top notch paper for $1.39 per. Can't be beat for basic printing.

Too much expensive stuff to fit in my cheap camera bag.

we call Costco the "Hundred Dollar Store." You can't get out of there for under a hundred bucks! :)

Nonsense.

I've been known to "get out" for $2.98 + tax (the cost of two 8x10's).

:p

FWIW - If the wife happens to come along for the ride you can move the decimal point two spaces to the right.

One important thing about Costco as it relates to what they stock.

Often, if you see it and you need (want?) it, buy it right then because it could be gone in a couple days and may not be back in stock for a while (if ever.)

I've no doubt that a significant portion of Costco's sales stem from this hit/miss stocking policy.

exactly! Costco comes through with some pretty quality stuff for the lowest price i've seen in a store... I've had so many prints made there and they do a solid job and if there is any problems they are typically very helpful/easy to work with.

They have the best deal on Eneloop batteries too!!

Oh yeah, they always seem to have the best deal on car tires too (well at least for average use tires)

That's absolutely intentional. They call it the "treasure hunt."

There's a Costco a couple of miles from where I live. We visit weekly, if not more. Highly recommended.

I'm aware of what it is and why they do it but this type of chumming for spontaneous purchases may be entirely new to the OP in Oz...

Thanks...

how has nobody yet mentioned costco-dogs? they are worth the membership fee alone :)

their management is top notch which helped them get as far as they have.....no one wears a tag with anything but their first name on it, no special supervisors badges....employees are generally a happy bunch.

even the owner of the store himself wears just a badge with only his first name on it.

costco stores are huge....they are like walmart for superheroes

disclaimer: i own shares of costco stock and will continue to buy and hold!

The dogs are good but my personal secret indulgence (at my local Costco) is the pizza. Two slices and a soft drink and I'm good to go...

In addition you can often find some organic options for food as well! We try to eat as little processed stuff as possible, so this is a really nice option!

I'll second everything said, except I prefer the corned beef sandwiches instead of hotdogs. I don't grab a shopping cart unless there is something I know I need it for. That way, you get to the back corner of the store and find something you think you need, and you have the whole walk back to get a cart to think about whether you really need it. We usually get out of there with just what we can carry in our hands.

Do watch the prices though. Sometimes you don't save enough to justify buying 2L of mustard.

Your store may be different, but I only joined mine for the repeatable very good quality prints. They haven't failed me in 3 years.

Where's the cheapest place to get 4x6's with great quality???

Their 12" polish sausage sandwich + a drink for $1.50 isn't bad, either. ;)
