Nonsense.

I've been known to "get out" for $2.98 + tax (the cost of two 8x10's).

:p

FWIW - If the wife happens to come along for the ride you can move the decimal point two spaces to the right.

I'm more than just familiar with that problem :)

The thing I like is the availability of their photo lab profiles HERE (external link).

Some samples from Australia.

And the free buffet :D

My wife nicknamed Costo the Evil store cuz everytime we went there, we spend money.

Last Saturday we went in for a slice of pizza and a hotdog, we walked out with a bunch of toilet papers, roll papers, paper plates, soap, some orchids, a huge bucket of ice cream and 2 gallons of milk, and a few other items. Freaking $200 for a hotdog trip ... stupid coupons hahaha...

Evil...very evil.

they still do what store you know extends a warranty for 2 years for free on certain items and i think a 90 day return policy is still fair?

Any decent return policy will be abused until it has to be repealed.

I remember when Best Buy used to be one of the easiest places to return stuff. Try it now...

Costco responded to an army of people abusing their return policy as a free upgrade plan (particularly on HDTVs) every time a new model came out. And FWIW 90 days is still 3 to 6 times more than the average store return policy.

EDIT: In fact, if you do a little digging on this very forum you will find several examples of similar behavior involving camera "upgrades".

I second what Dave said, the only reasons I keep my Costco membership is for

1) the best prices on prints

2) the fabulous ability to download their printer profiles so that after I have spent time calibrating my monitor and color balancing and processing my print, they print out exactly as I expect. And they update their profiles every 6 months.

Costco is well worth the membership. Very good selection of goods. Their meats and bakery are excellent. Mmm, the muffins... I just got some new wiper blades for my truck for $7 each, normally $20. And their food court has great pizza, chicken bakes, hot dogs, and ice cream.

A word of caution: In the US we have a phenomenon called the "Dollar Store" [every thing in there is a dollar], we call Costco the "Hundred Dollar Store." You can't get out of there for under a hundred bucks! :)

Truth.

Totally worth the membership.

Chicken costs me $1.99 a pound. I bought a 3 pound bag of almonds for $10.00 (normally about 8.00 a pound). I also buy my yogurt and salad mix there for excellent discounts.

Costco also treats their employees well. I believe that the starting pay is around $12.00 and hour....and provide full health insurance.

I like shopping at costco...its alot better then sams club/walmart. Who treat their employees like crap and bully distributors.
