Just bought my new camera!

After years with my 20D, I finally pulled the trigger on a new camera, the 50D. (I was torn between that and the 5DmkII). After the rebates expired and I missed them, I thought I was out of luck. Fortunately, I found a great deal at buydig.com, and pulled the trigger. (I think they were slow to change back their prices: 1229 shipped with a 4GB cf card and a 28-135IS, which I plan to sell.)

I'm still planning on buying the 5Dii, but not until I see some kind of rebate or price reduction, which I hope will be around the time they release the 1D mark IV's. (hopefully be sometime in '09?) Until then I have a new toy to play with! Hooray!

It's been way tooooooooooooooo long since I last enjoyed the thrills of having a new camera. If only the 5D Mark II prices would drop sooner

Congratulations!!! I was playing around with a 50D the other day at the store and man that LCD on the back is amazing. I love the fact that you can actually tell whether your shot's in focus without having to zoom in all the way or worse yet just trust in the camera and wait till you're on the computer to find out for sure.
