I picked up a 1D mkI on Saturday and felt like I needed to give it a try out so I headed to Richmond Park. Really happy with the results and overall performance from the combo. Only downside which I found was I could not get the sun behind me for some, think #2-#5.

Cool deer! Neither of these are native here in the US. What are they? Fallow Deer and a Red Stag? Were they in the wild? Are they native to the UK?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Very nice shots, 6 would be my pick but I think the crop is a bit tight.

Dave.

PS, to answer Tom question, you are correct these are fallow and Red deer and yes they are native to the UK and run wild in some remote parts. These particular deer are within a wildlife park.

A load of Canon Gear.

There's some nice shots here- 3, 4 and 6 are my favourites for composition but the light on the last three really suits the subject

Yes, it was a mixture of Red Deer and Fallow Deer. They are in a nature reserve park, Richmond Park which is home to some wild animals but as its used by people and can be driven through, they have become a lot more timid and not that scared off by people hence 300mm was enough for them. Even point and shoots were being used for some close shots.

I tried a few @ #6 but the only one with a bit of a looser crop was crooked and had a car driving through the shot. First time with a long prime. :o

The light was glorious so I plan to go about the same time again if I can.
