My cousins kids at a recent function.... I love taking portraits of the little tackers but they're so quick sometimes I need to up my skills so I don't miss the good shots

Kids can be challenging to capture. If you like the tight head shots as I do, I tend to shoot them a little wider, then crop to get the tight shot. Shoot from low head high level like you did, thats nice.

Inside a flash bounced off ceiling works nicely. I use flash alot outside too for fill with flash in High Speed Sync if subjects are fairly close.
