Never got around to speaking on Saturday Jay. I was walking most of the time almost the complete stage, but I never saw the log piles - where were they? Nice crafty shot of Burton (when he stopped for maintenance?) Also nic e DOF on the Manta shot - what settings?

Thanks Nick,I didnt know you was around on Saturday .. then again, I dont think we've ever met so I could have been stood next to you and wouldnt have known!

Yeah the Burton photo was taken when he pulled up mid convoy run to inspect the car. The Manta shot was taken with the new 200mm f/2 at f/2. From memory I think the log piles were roughly in the middle of the stage.

Hi Jay - how to you transport your 200mm F2 ? The last I met you, you were using a lowpro trekka of some sort.
I have the older 200 mm F1.8, but I never use it much nowadays, mainly because of the weight, it being heavier then my 300mm F2.8.

Hi John. When you met me I would have been using the Tamrac expedition 8 backpack. When I got the f/2 I decided to also invest in a Think Tank belt and harness system. I got fed up with having to take off the backpack everytime to change lenses.

The 200mm fits perfectly in the think tank 'lens changer 300' pouch (with the hood installed) attached to the belt and therefore now sits handily on my right hip.

The harness is also much more comfortable to wear and once you have your gear configured on it correctly, it makes life soo much easier.

Cheers
Jay
