I fiddled around for a bit but ended up using the rounded rectangles in Photoshop. I basically created a rounded rectangle that was black then created a white one that was just a bit smaller then the black one...

Then used the Text tool... to type the speaking...

I'm sure I could have made different more elaborate shapes if I wanted to but what I did worked ok... :o

I used a Custom Shape tool in Photoshop. I had to hunt a little to find it, but all you do is add it to the default shapes. There are quite a few to choose from.
