Evening All,
Had a great day out in the magnificent Ludlow forests, surely as good as anywhere in the country for rallying.
Was well organised and ran smoothly, well done chaps.
Met a few off here and elsewhere ,which was nice .:)

No excuses, this is what I shot ,critique no problem.

Course car ,and well driven in some nice morning light.

Hi Chris, the two Manta shots are the pick for me they seem to pop more than the others, but all very sharp.

#1 and 2 for me.
Some of them are driving without co pilot. Whats up with that?

Morning All,
Hi Nick,
Really good to meet you .
Agree re Manta shots, the light was way better, and isos much lower.
My camera seemed to struggle in TV mode over exposing, but was fine when I switched to manual.
Cheers Rhodri,
I thought at the time ,with the light as was then ,that they would be likely to be worth getting right.re sharp, was resting camera on bean bag ,which at my age ...........
Jim,
Plenty more MK 2s shot...............,cheers .

Thanks Elvis,it is all about the light ,after all.

Semmonka,
Re co -pilot.
All the competing cars had no co pilot, first convoy run, then practice, then two competitive runs over 5 mile stage, afternoon, stage reversed, same procedure.
You have the same format in Finland ,dont you for some events ?
The ones with co driver are course cars.
Thanks ,
Pons.

Thanks for the info Pons. We sure do have same format in here.

Nice set Chris, the 2 Manta shots do stand out from the rest because of the lighting, the others are good actions shots but a little flat if you know what I mean.

Cheers
Ian

Cheers Ian,
Cannot say I disagree with those comments.
The flatter shots were from late in the day in rather poor light, with high iso,and definately needed a bit more oompah .:)

I did have plenty of sunny shots, but this was one perhaps I should have posted.

First & last (Manta + PugsWorth) for me out of these.

7 is a good example of one of Rally Photography's challenges. Lovely light blocked by those pesky trees they seem to like planting in forests ;)

Incidentally, wasn't "The Pons" that annoying bloke with the cheap looking Leather jacket in Happy Days? :D

Morning All,
Thanks Darren,
Sometimes I post shots that are average at best ,leaving the best stuff still on the PC,this was one that I did not spot till I looked again.
Cryton,
Lighting is all ,and the softer light was a real bonus ,and was a treat to be out again, god,I have missed it.
Geoff,
Yeah, the trees do get in the way !
Sometimes the Big ones come in useful .
I think forests, sun and rally cars and shade is certainly a challenge, lack of sun the biggest.
Re the Pons,definately annoying ...............Hehhh,Cunningham.

Met him last year in London, the real one,the boy Henry.

Heeh,
Pons
