Hello!

Used to do some astrophotography years ago with an Olympus OM-1, decided to acquire a DSLR and take it up again. For frst light I was outside San Antonio TX and captured 8 - 8 min exposures for this star trail. Also A quick shot of the moon, no PP just cropped. I look forward to learning a lot from these forums and seeing some great pictures!

Moon looks a bit soft, and the trails do a bit too, but with trails this doesn't really matter I don't think...I like the amount of background light you got in the trails shot actually. The trails all look a little irregular...was it windy or something?

Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, Canon 50mm f/2.5 Macro, 2x TC, Revelation 12" f/5 Dobsonian, Mintron PD2285-EX webcam.

What was the interval between your star trail exposures? I only ask as there is a discernible break in each trail, which I imagine represents the gap between exposures.
