Ok, so I just joined Flickr. Everyone else is doing it! Here is a 2 light setup with a B800 and 400. Large octabox on the 800 and a 20 grid on the 400. Oh and its a small bikini top so it may not be work safe :p

You should be expecting many, many, views on that shot ;)

Pretty model, great pose, and I really like the composition. Would have preferred to see more detail in the white dress....it's too blown....and catchlights in her eyes would have made them better. How did you light her ?
Also I think I might have cropped it just a bit tighter to get rid of that little gray triangle at top right of frame.

Two things my eye is drawn to right of the top that I see. The ledge going thru the middle of her head. You never want a anything thru the center of your subjects head. Second is the composition. You cut the dress off at the bottom but have dead space over her head. Would have liked to see the camera lowered a bit to see more of the dress and less space above her head. A nice image overall though, light is even and pleasing.

IMO the dress is too blown out, esp. the lap/thigh area which is lacking detail compared with the dark rocks (esp. between arm and body) which draw the eye with a ton of detail and dark tones compared to the vast whiteness which does not allow the eye to rest upon it. The rocks being in focus is a distraction in general, but with the dress blown out the rocks really dominate. They are a great background when OOF like in the top/right of the frame, but in the plane of focus they really stick out.

top right corner bugs me. as people said about the ledge coming out of her head, catch lights, and blown dress.

thanks for the comments ..

I agree with mostly everything you guys said ..

I don't mind the ledge position even knowing the technically correct way ...

I think the picture overall is ok but it just IMO doesnt stand out .. :(

I am going to have to go against the grain on shot 2, I am sorry. I will be a bit honest here. Because of the wide angle its shot at, her hands look huge compared to the rest of her body. Also dont like that one elbow is bent while the other is locked. The surrounding dont match the outfit either. It kinda says to me, hey I didnt have a studio to shoot this so we just wandered into a construction site. The weird gaussian blur around the edges screams amateur as well.

First shot is cropped off at the ankles which is a big no no, you also left unneeded space above her head. Why not bring the camera down and compose it so we see her feet instead of dead space above her head? Third pic just doesnt work on any level. Model is attractive though :)
