I still dont understand why people pay $250-$260 for the used 800s when you can get them brand new for $279. I gladly pay the extra $25 to get a new light in the box with warranty and all the goods. If i see one going around $220 (hint to anyone selling), then we might have a deal :D

The warranty actually stays with the product, but I definitely understand what you're saying. I'll most likely only buy new.

Just because some people overpay for used products doesnt mean we all will :)

they ask $250, but what is the actual selling price? I got both mine off ebay for between $225 and $230 with the shipping.

anyways..

this lighting system is the best bang for your buck.. gosh .. i would have bought these 9 months ago if i knew how to use them > LOL..

also i still can't believe how low priced they are... come on.. ab1600 is just under 400 dollars. best deal ever..

also some more images to enjoy or dislikes..

@ Mattograph.. you didn't like your AB800?

Phamster.....great set of shots here. The last two are my favorites.

The B&W has a very cool 1960's hollywood actress look to it. My only nit with them is that her eyes would have looked better if you could have got her pupils stopped down before you fired off the shot. They are a bit dialated due to the low overall ambient. Still overall, nices poses, comp, exposure and PP. Oh yeah....having a real beauty to shoot makes it all a bit easier too !

I got both of mine for $225 to $230 also! I will not pay $250.00 for a used light when they are $279 new.

I like these very much, with the exception of the one with the orange rim light. I gotta get a vagabond so I can take mine out to play!!

thanks.. she does have big eyes.. but your are talking the dark part of her eyes.. to stop that down.. don't have to have her look at something bright first.. then take the shot?

outdoors, drive by's -- so many whistles and ya wooooh.. comments.. maybe it is not safe to work with her near traffic.. ha ha..
this is with conservitative clothing on.. wait until she does her swimsuit calender with 'CAMPUS GIRLS'

Phamster: These look better to me then the last ones. I would just watch where you crop. Last shots you had one cut off at the ankles, in these there is one cut off at the wrist. All you need is one cut off at the elbows for the no no trifecta :p Not a fan of the cropped off fingers and hand positions in some and she has an odd, uncomfortable expression is most these shots. Work with any other models? :) Light is ok, very bright and a bit harsh in most. What kind of modifier are you using?

I was hoping uncle Paulie would give me a pre 4th of July present and tell me I can place my order for a couple AB Max's.
