I much prefer the original. She's a beautiful woman and the image is strong with great character.

I love this! I'm a fan of post processing and believe it to be another gateway to achieving the artists full vision regardless of how processed it is. Check out Joel Grimes and read his blog, very inspirational.

What was your lighting setup for this shot?

I think it was the giant octabox on top right of the model and a regular octabox camara left back for fill ..

The alien bee hooks where not strong enough and when the next model came to shoot the giant octabox came out busting my flashtube and landing on top of the model in addition it made a recoil effect for the boom arm since all that weight came out and it snapped back and hit me on my face ... I love alien bees but this little stuff its starting to get annoying and although their customer service is second to none .. I hate to continue calling back with problems .. :(

I know what you are after...a the "new" wave of fashion....the best way to do that is Hot lights....I've been experimenting....

Can you fill me and show me some examples .. I'm a little lost to what you are talking about .. thanks

haha i totally understand your frustration. i had my AB for 1 day let alone a couple of hours when both my Flashtube and Modeling light broke.

i guess i would hate it because im even getting scared because cause my next modifier is probably going to be an octa but i guess if you dont call they will never learn to fix thier problems.

what did they say about the stuff falling off? are you getting it replaced or what?

I've had my Vagabond blow 2 fuses so far, anyone else had this happen? Support thought the first one was an anomaly, not sure after the second one went. I emailed them but just curious if others have seen this-
Nice shots RiKaN, love that hair on the vampire shot- I couldn't help but picture a slapstick comedy movie with the octa falling on the model and the boom flying back up at you- ouch!

^ That stinks. What would cause the fuse to blow? A short? Too many bees hooked up?

It couldn't be too many Bees. PCB states that you can have 4 B1600's running off a single Vagabond II.

I only had one light, my understanding after talking to support is it may have been loose or not had good contact, or if you shoot a long rapid sequence of shots which wasn't the case. But I am going to test it out some more and see if I can break it again :D- I always carry spare fuses now though ;)

It shouldn't be that temperamental though, and I don't hear others reporting this problem. I'm sure that considering how much abuse the Vagabonds must get we'd have heard about this problem by now if it was a known issue.

I'd keep an eye on it and see what happens. If it continues then I'd probably bug them to replace the unit.

Hey Alejandro,

I do like your work but I find the skin retouching and processing to look more like an artists drawing or painting than a photo. That's not necessarily negative but for my taste, the post processing is on the heavy side. I don't really feel like I'm looking at a photo of a human.
