I bought an eye hook with a nut and two big washers from Home Depot today. I used that to hold plates from my dumbbells and then hung the eye hook on my boom arm's hook. The thing is that the light stand isn't a heavy duty one. Lol. I thought I was going to lose my BD and B800 all at once. I didn't even get to ask my wife if she was okay.

It looks like a texture layer, correct me if I'm wrong, Pham.

I dont have any experience with a white beauty dish, just the new High Output dish from PCB. When I used it inside, working pretty close it worked very well giving nice contrasty specular highlights but not so hard as to be troublesome. Using it outside against the sun, at slightly farther away, maybe 10-12 feet it was pretty hard light, almost like no modifier at all other than spill controlled. Its a good tool, but perhaps not as versatile as a plm or a softbox.

I've been wondering about the new High Output Beauty Dish from PCB as well...interesting to hear your response.

Just wondering does anyone else feel this way about their HOBD? Whats an available alternative for a beauty dish for the alienbees?

I caught Tara in between shots while she was laughing at something that was said, and it turned out perfect.
