I'm an AB owner. I have 3 AB800's and I'm ordering 2 more Ab1600's plus the Cyber Commander this weekend.

I haven't kept up with this thread but I wish I had. Seeing that it is almost 500 pages! I've only perused the last few.

I see that there are posts demonstrating the results of some AB use. Well I have some shots that I'd like to share that were taken with AB800's.

Thanks,

Andy

infek - That is awesome! That's a great use of long exposure - very inspiring image!

Thanks! I'm still learning.

I had a weird one this morning....never seen this before. I dialed the power slider down on one of the AlienBees, and I did my usual hit the test button to dump the caps.....and it sat there blinking back and forth between green and red, about once every second or two. It just kept doing it, so I hit the dump button again...and it continued to do it. Ran it up to full power....dump....down to min power, dump, and that seemed to clear it.

When I had Bees that used to happen to one of my B800's and I never figured it out. PCB replaced it.

I downloaded the beta version of Lightroom 3 and was playing around with it. Now I am torn between buying the vagabond or Lightroom 3 when it comes out next. I am thinking still the vagabond but the processing that you can do so quickly in lightroom is really great.

Thanks for the comment Rob....I'll keep an eye on it, and if it does it again, I'll call them up. After I cleared it this morning, it didn't do it again.....but I only used it for a little while....so it may come back.

I found that even if it behaved for a while, sooner or later the problem came up again. I guess you could wait since you're under warranty but ultimately I would just let PCB handle it. They'll just send a new one and pay for you to return the defective unit.

I think you made a typo and meant to say you would let PCB handle it?
