I love it. I just wish I could see a little bit of white in the eyes but I don't know the concept or intent of the shot.

Thanks my friend glad to know you like it !!!

Gabby ~ Senior Grass shot

another senior

like i said it is going to be crazy this year..

this part time hobby is taking over..

i used an alien bee 1600 for this light..

for farm sessions, i just use the studio lights .. being they produce the most powerful lighting and the difference is very noticeable compared to speed lights

lighting was camera left and gabby was on a crest of a hill.. so when poseing your subjects have them look down a little because you want the sky so you are shooting upwards..

i think i had the ab1600 at 3/4 power with 64PLM as modifier

CameraCanon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperturef/9.0
Focal Length85 mm
ISO Speed100
Exposure Bias0 EV

Love this picture! What time of day was this taken?
Has anybody done a comparison of the 64PLM to the 60" Softlighter? I would assume similar results?

Glad to hear things are taking off! Not being in the USA, whenever I hear "Senior Portraits" I'm expecting somebody at least 60 yo.

HI Drisley,

I suspect that the 64" PLM is going to be a bit more directional, more efficient and have slightly greater contrast. Remember, the 60" Softlighter has a white interior with no deflector and it does live up to it's name. It's not an extremely efficient modifier either.

fyi if you didn't know already your vagabond will double a sandbag for one of your lights... it comes with straps to attach to your light stand.
