Might want to check this stand/boom combo out.

I wouldn't go too "cheap" on the boom stand combo especially if you're going to be using strobes over someone's head. Hate to see that bump if it fell.

Thanks but out of stock till Oct 15.

$84 + shipping.

This has carried my ab800 + bd.

I will check this from local shop to save on shipping...in the meantime ordered the cowboy which I can use later as rsflector stand.

Bigfoot, yeti, Loch Ness Monster, PLM V2. You want to believe they exist, but there never seems to be proof.

Question, do the B400's and 800's do continuous lightning? I was reading on their site it has a modeling lamp, but that isnt exactly the same as continuous lighting is it?

Also to fire them wireless, do you need anything special? Or can I set it up like having my 7D fire my 430EX and that will in turn fire the AB flash? Thanks guys!

They dont do continuous lighting beyond the modeling light which is a 150 watt bulb or less. So if you are wanting continuous for video, or even stills strobes are not really the answer. You might be able to fire the 430 with the 7D but the preflash will cause the bees to fire early. You would really want to pick up a set of wireless triggers since the bees dont use ettl there is little reason to complicate the process by using the 430 and your built in flash as a controller.

@ Gonzon and WRXTACY..

i think you can have a 430 on top of your camera and in manual mode.. shutter has to be on or below your sync speeds and if your in a room.. that can bounce light back to your bees, then the bees will fire ok..

but if you are not in a enclosed room with a roof.. SOL bro !..

what gonzo is saying is the best advice.. get some radio frequency transmitter and receivers and your enjoyment of off camera lighting will be complete !

Make sure you get all the shooting time (and what not) in with her then!

Thanks, I have set of RF-602's but I dont believe those will work with the bees.

Took this photo on a day where the heat index was over 100 degrees. We did not have long to pose before everyone started getting red faced and sweating.

Pham is right and I should have pointed that out. I just find it to be a terrible solution because you have this light in places where its not really welcome just to fire a strobe.
