I'm looking forward to it. The last one was weak. This is supposed to be more supportive of the shaft so it doesn't break. Which is how mine broke.

It probably is more supportive, but they could have designed a simpler interface.

Yes very very big. 64 is the utility and a great size. If you've used a 60" SL2 it is the same thing just a tad bit bigger. Octaboxes will give you more contrasty light than the PLM.

cool, thanks for the info!

I've used it on location indoors a couple of times with no problems. Havent had an opportunity to take it outside yet, and with the fall winds howling I might not for a while.

oh wow... that is big.... sometimes i know the listed size isn't actually how big the modifier is on the face/front of it... so i just wanted to check....

Just to repeat this again.... for the PLM's the the face/front actually measures across the size listed for them?

cluadia stands 5 feet 2 inches and with 2-3inch heels makes her about 5 feet 5 inches

so you make your decision

...I didn't like the back cover for the white in V1 so decided not to get them in larger sizes in V2....

What was it you didn't like about the back cover, Dave? Just yesterday I FINALLY received the back cover for my 51" PLM V2. The material seems fine; black on the outside, silver on the inside. It clips onto the rib tips fairly easily and is nice and snug once mounted. At first glance, I don't see any potential issues with it.

This is the best setup shot I have with both the 86 and 64 together.

86" is in front as key and 64" is back right obviously.

Mind you those are prob. 10 foot ceilings in that last pic. The 86 really shouldn't be used anywhere but a big studio and a parking garage lol.

Stand is just a regular impact heavy duty 13' stand (or PCB's heavy duty stand they are basically the same thing), and the boom is a savage arm > http://www.adorama.com/SALSAB101.html (external link) Although i recommend buying the heavy duty manfrotto adapter and counter weight to pair with it. All in all you have the cash buy something a little more stable, but it does the job and for 40 bucks you can't beat it really.
