I wanted to play a little bit with this combination just to see what kind of pictures would come out. It wasn't ideal lighting (overcast & later in the afternoon), so I had to push the ISO to 3200 to get respectable shutter speeds. With the TC, I was limited to F11 and manual focus. Granted, the detail isn't quite there, and NR was applied in PP, but these came out a little better than I thought they might. All were shot with the 50D.
(Sorry they're not a little bigger. Picasa is making me mad resizing them on their site.)
Here are a few. Please feel free to correct my bird IDs, and C&C are welcome.
1. A Junco on a fence
2. A White Throated Sparrow
3. A House Finch on the feeder pole
4. A female House Sparrow (?)
5. A male House Sparrow in the bushes
6. Another White Throated sparrow?
7. A female House Sparrow
8. 2 male House Sparrows in the top of the bushes
