In a recent update of the Nikon D3....

D700 as well.

You will see that they had to take care of black dots also.

Is it possible that Canon users are more discerning than Nikon users?

The black dots on the 5DMII were found in like minutes. But Nikon took almost a year to see it on their cameras and that was after the Canon thing. Did Nikon go and look at it only because of the Canon 5DMII outcry?

The reason that I wonder that Canon users are more discerning is that the D3 also has AF problems at its highest speed. But they compensate by increasing shutter to give the AF more time to work. In canon land we just say its broken.

Once again I would like to see Rob Galbraith run the D3 through the same paces that he ran the 1DMIII through.

Point being, how many things are wrong with Nikon, Pentax, Samsung, etc. that go unnoticed?

Yeah but it's only with long exposures on the Nikons, and not necessarily the same kinds of black dots. With the 5DII it wasn't limited to long exposures. Comparing apples to oranges, says nothing about how discerning Nikonians are compared to Canonites.
