Hi,

Until now I have been using simple point and shoot (Powershot S45 etc) cameras to take some pictures. My wife recently ordered a Pro 1 camera for my birthday and I want to know what's the best way to go about learning a bit more. I want to make good use of this camera's powerful features instead of making it another point and shoot.

Any online photography guides and/or guides regarding a good use of Pro 1 that you can recommend would be very helpfull.

Thank you.
DJ:)

Just go next door to the "Talk about Photography" forum and at the top of the page are a couple of "stickies" that would be of interest to you. Good luck! :)

BTW, I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum. :D

One of the best investments I made to learn how to use the camera was to take a couple of classes with a local photographer. It really helped understand how the camera works and the interaction between camera settings. She also looked at examples of photos I took and made suggestions on how to improve them.

Good Luck,

Baadil, Welcome to the forum.

Here are the stickies that PacAce talked about:

Also, a good way to learn about photography and your Pro1 is with this book:

I purchased this for my old G3 and it was pretty useful I thought.

Hope this helps.
