Good luck on putting something together for tomorrow David....I'm sure you will find something reasonably intelligent to throw at them.

PS....you should get out more....the sun sets every single day in MD....even though some folks try to deny it. ;)

I do need to get out more, you are right, for sure...and I know that silly:confused:;), of course the sun sets in MD but you see, here is the thing, it's just that I am driving home from work so that the sun is setting behind me...then, I am situated on a little finger of a peninsula on the bay that is tucked ever so strategically between the bay and a creek so that the sun sets behind some annoying trees and NOT over the stinking water....It is frustrating to say the least. BUT, if I got out more, I could remedy the situation by being in a better place at the right time but get this, my kids, you know, they want to eat food and stuff at sunset time. Crazy...I should go to bed now. ;)

Greg...

Looks like a lot of fun.

FWIW, the photos were really slow-loading. It could be a problem with my ISP. It's been quirky lately.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I like the first one best where everyone is just doing their random thing. But 2 faces are hidden in that one. If you're going to do some serious editing and save it for a memory I'd say the third one as it is the most intense of the 2 with everyone in a line.

that's very pretty!

The one thing that you might want to make a habit of doing is always checking your horizon line (to see if it's straight)...if not before shooting definitely in PP.

Could be the planet, too. Just thought I'd throw that in just to confuse.

Last week I used my 14mm to shoot at the beach. When I was processing the shots, I noticed that I could actually see some curvature on the horizon. I don't know if that was the curve of the earth or from the lens (more likely.)

that happened with me when I had the tamron 14mm too...I think it's the distortion but I can't remember what it's called.

John do you have any fringing issues or CA with that lens?

ewwww.... you better get on that practice! Nice of them to wait until the last minute!

They actually had the time of the hearing changed at the last minute, and several of the people they had lined up to speak weren't available at the new time. There was some mad scrambling to rework everything and make sure that we were well represented.

I've written, rewritten, and re-rewritten my planned testimony. I've timed myself giving it a half dozen times, and each time has been within a couple of seconds +/- of my target. I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be. Wish me luck! :D

Yoda - do you use a insert with your F-802 or just toss camera gear in there?

Depends on mood and payload. If I am carrying very little, I leave the 5D in there straight, because nothing will scratch it. Inserts are used when I have more than one lens. They get taken out again when I am carrying A LOT and need every cubic fraction of an inch of space.

I made my own insert by gathering a few spares from the 13 other bags I have. I think I used the Pelican ones and made 3 compartments with the center the smallest for a flash. I put my 5D with 24-70 or 70-200 2.8IS lens in first, and the other lens on the other side. It's a great set up, nice and tight.

I have recommended the S5IS to many friends and the school my sons attend. Everyone that uses it loves it. So, if they do a new model, I hope it performs well.
