For that, I'd get a G10. ;)

I just looked at that Canon site and read the specs. Very impressive. I don't know if f2.8 would do it for me, but it's pretty impressive for a P&S. Just the price $660 is steep.

The G10 doesn't offer a 20x optical zoom, a flip lcd, full 1080i video, or a host of other fancy features.

Yeah, I just looked at the new camera and it is impressive. But since I got the 5D2, I can't justify getting that one. I have too many toys already.

I don't know. I just found out Permie went to the dark side and I was wondering about toys and how much I can't part with the ones I have. Selling my old 5D Classic almost made me cry.

Big SX1 IS news.....http://www.shutt3r.com/photo-bar/305385/ (external link)

Could this now be the official replacement for the S5IS as the camera of pros??

We are not worthy, we are not worthy!!

*bows down before the incredible power of the SX1*

I made my own insert by gathering a few spares from the 13 other bags I have. I think I used the Pelican ones and made 3 compartments with the center the smallest for a flash. I put my 5D with 24-70 or 70-200 2.8IS lens in first, and the other lens on the other side. It's a great set up, nice and tight.

Ah, that's similar to mine. However, over time, my 3-compartment insert has become loose enough that it achieves the same effect. 5D/24-105 on extreme right (with some foam padding on the bottom of the insert so the weight of the camera does not rest on the sides, damaging them). Flash in center, and other lens on the left. All facing down so I can pull them out easily.

Of course, it is not worthy either ;)

Actually IMO the G10 is this big oversized chunk of camera. If I wanted a P&S I want something SMALL. If I wanted 'full firepower' I'd pack the 5D and the nice glass.

The Domke insert was $30'ish on B&H... I might get the bag without an insert and see if I can rig one up with leftover parts from other bags... if not, I will buy the "offical" insert.
