I was lucky in that sense: I paid a fraction of that cost for it locally :)

No way would I pay $30 for it either, not when duct tape and foam padding from boxes that used to contain computer hardware works just as good.

Remember the key rule of the "mans game"

He who dies with the most toys ...... wins :-)

If I die in the next half hour, I should still get at least an honorable mention.:rolleyes:

Oh yeah speaking of a good value for money find, I FINALLY, after 3 years, solved the lens pouch problem.

The problem with the Lowepro LC's is that they are all fixed size. My lenses are most certainly NOT a fixed size. On a mission I may carry 17-40, 24-105, 70-200 (/4 ISL).

Thus I need different LC's and cannot just carry one LC on a belt to serve as a convenient stash for the lens. Plus the LC's are expensive, in the $30 range. I bought a few, regretted all of them.

Then I came across the Lowepro.....bottle bag.

Never intended to hold lenses, it is a PERFECT fit for my application. I have to remove the hoods, but all the lenses fit. And at the end of the day I will just shoot without the damned hoods if it means the ability to change lenses faster to get the shot when at events. I know my lenses well enough to know their flare suppression characteristics and while I USUALLY use the hoods whenever possible, I care not what people think of me for shooting without them. They are not the end users ('customers' if you will, despite the fact I am a volunteer and not paid) of the images.

I can stuff the 724ISL into the pouch, pull the drawstring and secure it while letting the lens stick out like a bottle, and the other lenses such as 24-105, 135L all fit perfectly.

The best part? It cost me $8.

You still win. Not many of us have the fabled supertele's - you do!

The 600/4 ISL already puts you way above our level!

Exactly who is that 600 willed to, Tom? You can adopt me. :);)

And I do have a ton more toys than anyone I know besides Jon & Jim here. I just wish I knew how to use most of them. :) I'm amazingly using great gear at about 10% of what they can do.

:) I got it. LOL

I'm not that jealous. I probably couldn't lift the thing for long anyway. It's definitely a monopod or tripod item. :) But when I come out to CA, I want to visit you and see your electronic toys.

Anytime, Suzy. I'd love the company.

Understand, Mo lives maybe 3 hours from here, but she's coming to see you instead. She also drive right past here when she visits her mom, but will she and Skip so much as wave (much less stop by).....oh, noooooooo.

Now, I find out she's going a vacation to Yellowstone with Kevin. Does she invite me and my wife to go along?.....on, nooooooooo

You can come and visit me anytime you'd like. Bring the family.
