Nice captures, Harm.

Late last year, we were in Vancouver BC for one night. We were walking from our hotel to dinner with our kids, and I'd left all my gear locked up in the safe in the room. About a block from the restaurant we were going to we came across dozens of firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances, with more rolling in every minute. I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me, but even if I'd had it, I also had my kids and wife, and everyone was hungry.

We found out during dinner, from a couple who just happened to be seated next to us and had been evacuated from the high rise with all the attention, that there had been a small electrical fire in one of the lower levels of a high rise hotel, and that the entire building had been evacuated. The couple had walked down 20 some flights of stairs, and there were a lot of people above them.

Thanks David...most times I am kicking myself thinking "why on earth didn't I have my camera with me", but hey, with a wife and kids that are hungry....you have no option but to hunt for food first...

We were walking down 7th Ave I believe, and all these Fire Engines were trying to get through the traffic...there was no smoke or anything so my wife dragged me to rubber neck them. So I just started shooting some shots. Was nice, as the firefighters did not mind at all. Just sucks that the sky was so light and grey, which is hard to sort out!!

We had a couple of inches in the yard, and a trace on the roads. No school delays, but it was nasty a little further north of here. I'm completely ready for it to be spring now.

Harm, I liked the FDNY series a lot, but I'd rather go to the swimming pool.

Too bloody right. I make a superb Sangria to go by the pool side when you're not in it.....
