My son has a 30D with one of the lenses that have been mentioned here earlier, the 17-85, and he loves it. My 5D, 24-105 would work in a room that size. Your 20D plus 17-85 would give you an approximate full frame FOV of 27-136. Sounds like you could make some money with it and then buy more gear! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Glad you are having good results with the M3. Nice impulse purchase that's TRUE TMS!!Thanks. Mmm maybe not really TMS. I stewed over it for about three days before I raised my hand and bid. I had been considering the 5DII but changed my mind last Oct/Nov, been saving up for a new mkIII but this one came up second hand for less than a 5DII <whoooot!>. Greg

For full body shots, and when you're talking about wedding dresses you're definitely going to want full body shots, a 50mm on a crop body might be too long. The 50 and the others that have been mentioned before are great at portraits, head shots, and details, but for groups and full length portraits in an enclosed space, probably wouldn't work. -David

The 24-70 was on the ds2 or the M3. But I tend towards the uwa or the closeup and rarely in between. That being said, I would not be without either the 17-(whatever) or the 24 (or 28 )-70 because they both have their uses in a portrait type setting. Then again, the 70-200 is so important too. Hard choices for sure. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I'd like a 135L. Why don't you convince Dan that is sucks, then talk him into selling it to me while Chris is out of town?

The first time I sold it after I sold my 5D (it was too long for crop) but I regretted it. SO I really stressed to him that he shouldn't sell it. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

Greg_C Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 23, 2009 17:11 | #329 I'm considering selling my 10-22 when I sell the 40D. I don't have a regular UWA now, I do have a 10-17 Fishy which will be ok to about 15 or so. WIll pick up a 16-35 in a few months hopefully. No real rush as I tend to prefer longer focal lengths to wider stuff. Greg

I didn't like how it handled anything but the center of the photo. It was one of my peeve lenses. I preferred the 17-40. But I needed 2.8 for work. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS
