That's nice, Chief ;)

It is sometimes nice to take a step back.

Also, it seems you folk are more telephoto oriented. Wool needs to walk around with a 70-200 on FF - that'd be a good range :P I am far more into the wide end.. 17-40 on FF! Different styles and different visions, I figure.

I agree for the most part. I have a 16-35L and 14L for such sport. For crop bodies, I have the 10-22. Both are very decent lenses.

[Edit: By 'both,' I ment the WA zooms.....the 14L was thrown in as an afterthough.]

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

You are very close to being correct....the 70-200 gets way more mileage than either my 16-35 or 17-40....I went to Disney and only took the 17-40....big mistake...it was way, way too short...

oh yeah....took the 24-105 to Sea World....again....it was way too short....even on a 20D.

Same.. 17-40 and 10-22 - own both, love both, just because I am a big UWA fan :)

People think I'm crazy duplicating, but I've learned you need backups when the chips are down, and some days I want to carry one body and not 2 (ie. when I want to 'go long' on the 40D but need some wide too)

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, is a famed man who strives for world peace. He is very well thought of in the UK. He is never aggressive in his tones for what he believes in, but conveys his points over very well. You are very, very lucky to have scored tickets for that!!

Shame no cameras are allowed.....how about a camera phone?

Don't know why, but that made me hungry for a nice hot bowl of split pea soup. Yum.

mooorning... I was wondering... my sister in law is getting married next weekend. My husband is walking her down the aisle and my boys are the ring bearers. Whats my limitation on photography, since she will have one there, and its not me. Should I only get shots before and after the wedding? Is it okay to take your own pictures during a wedding? I dont want to stand up in front of anyone, just from the seat. Is that okay?
What would you do?

+1

Being a family thing, I doubt anybody will stop you taking any shots.

Pictures of the MIL or we won't believe - PPing to turn her into a zombie is perfectly acceptable

Ask your SIL if she has a contract with the photographer that states he/she is the exclusive photographer. Most shooters don't worry about a few snaps from the seats...but if you start wandering around the church or horn in on the formals....they might get a bit testy.

Yeah, I dont have the skill to get in their way. I just thought a few shots, if not offending anyone, might be fun. I will check with her on that. They better not ask me to take pics of the rehearsal dinner and all that stuff. They seem to be "using" me when they can. In fact my MIL just expected me to bring my camera to the bridal shower and had to go home and get hers when I showed up EMPTY handed! ;)
