Cat's dog....:(

And of course you are welcome here....you are one of the original cast.

poor little dog. That's so sad.

I just can't really contribute to the gear discussion. All I have owned is what I still own. 20D, 50D, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200 IS and both kits lenses. I am still considering the 300 2.8 with 2x or 400. Also thinking about a 5D, to see what the hype about full frame is all about.

I have the money but I can't buy something without justification to myself that I need it or it will help me accomplish something I can't do now. Otherwise I feel too guilty about wasting money.

you know, you have a nice set of lenses...lots of people don't have that so what you've learned/do with them would be of interest. I see so many questions re: these lenses all the time.

Also, I think it's wise to not buy until you need something.

Lordy no!! The ultimate goal is to spirit you back to doing the bulk of your posting in POTN. I believe it is a more appreciative audience.

We all know you will eventually switch back to Canon (after Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Leica, and Pentax)

I hope I won't switch back. I'm happy. I haven't been since I sold my 5D. I hope I've learned my lesson and will stick with what I am happy with rather than chasing the "newest & (supposedly) best".

In a way I'm very old school. I'm comfortable with full frame (and the happiest) and I really like mf lenses (though I completely see the need for AF for any type of action) but I enjoy shooting the most with my D700 (ff) and a mf prime.

I keep trying to start my Jeep with my office key,

I sympathize completely. We've had the Lexus over two years, and have over 80K miles in it. It has the keyless entry in it, and I will still try to find a spot for the ignition key about every third time I get in it.

Don't worry, Dan. She will go through a Helga phase during which she will take a Pulitzer winning shot of a brown and white dog eating the neighbor's SUV, make lots of money, and you'll never have to worry about the price of camera equipment again.

Better days are coming.

I don't have much of a common ground either. My brain is the size of a walnut, I keep trying to start my Jeep with my office key, I'm completely illiterate, I have nice camera gear and no shots to prove it, I think in cartoons and I like the Lensbaby.

*weeps silently*

Lensbaby fanboys are always welcome here too!:lol::lol:
