Just the 1 series with specific L lenses that are also sealed. Without the gasket on the mount it isn't weather sealed, so you're not going to have a proper seal with off brand lenses and even some L lenses.

I picked my compromise on the basis that it is easier to seal the lens than the camera body. :)

One of my colleagues then gave me the Ultimate Solution: it's not a raincoat for the camera. It's not a plastic bag.

It's Glad Wrap. Why the hell did I never think of that?

And he admits to not being a photographer - best he's owned is high end P&S. Sometimes it does take a fresh new perspective from the 'outside' to yield a solution.

Glad wrap should work fine in most anything shy of a full blown hurricane.

6400's passable especially if you downsize a bit, 12800 looks like a hailstorm with purple patchy blotches.

Is this from your 1D2? Not bad for a camera with worse high-ISO noise characteristics than the 350D (yes we did the shootout, yes I got mocked by all the 350D owners :p)

Thalagyrt wrote in post #8068201 (external link)
Yep that's all from the 1D2. I'm still working on 12800, and I think 6400 has room for improvement.

The -=FlexNR=- Noise Removal Action for 1D Mark III! thread looks promising, I've been following it to keep abreast of how it works.

Pretty uneventful, aside from the usual storms. I was at CVS and had my camera with me and it started pouring outside, and I had to leave to get back home, didn't feel like waiting. All these people with their iPhones and crackberries were standing by the door waiting, I just shrugged and walked out. One guy said "HOLY @#$% HE'S GONNA BREAK HIS CAMERA!"

On Saturday a guy from the roofing company was moving heavy machinery in my apartment complex that he didn't know how to move and got himself killed. :(

I got some strange looks and comments from my work mates last Saturday standing in this taking photos.

No good about the workman at your apartment complex. Workplace Health and Safety is important. We've had an ad. campaign on TV for the last few months stressing the impact not coming home at night would have on your family.

FlexNR's for the mark III, my stuff's for the mark II, but a similar idea. Once I refine it some more I might approach PIX about possibly combining efforts.

Guess who finally got Photoshop! :D

I got CS4 Production Premium at the bookstore today, which has Photoshop Extended, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Soundbooth, OnLocation, and Encore.

$300, minus the $120 rebate I had leftover from last year, minus the $30.00 rebate I'll get back for it in August. So effectively I got a $1,500 software package for $150. Gotta love those student discounts.

Now I just need to figure out how to use this thing.

I've thought about joining the club team, but haven't. I haven't really played much since coming to school, not much spare time.

But yeah, I'm a Dawg. Woof.

Not where I am ;)

There are more lucrative IT jobs available if I wanted to accept combat pay (with the associated combat risks :p)
