Um, water douses fire. Just saying.

Wow. That's the only thing that you've found so far in these strips that violates the laws of physics? ;)

Yeah. you know... when there was a Bull Butt, plugging a hole in the space ship... that was TOTALLY believable. But put Zaneron in some water and WHOA! That's not right.

I forgot about your photo of the nikon glass in your lenses.

and definitely the gear I have is working for me so I'm quite happy.

and I didn't know that about long teles. Don't have the $ for it anyway but it's nice to knw. I have now spent everything that I gained by selling my canon stuff.

:)

I learned that from the Canon 1200/5.6, ironically. The 'pop' into focus is absolutely dramatic. You'll know when you've hit it. On a 350D - which normally can't MF for anything thanks to the tiny finder and not so wonderful focusing screen.

Woo Hooo Mooooo!!

Despite my impoverished state, I have today purchased a new camera. Okay, I didn't buy it, per se. All our traveling over the last three years caused us to amass almost 1,000,000 Marriott Rewards points. We just aren't on the road enough these days for there to be any chance we'll use them up in the forseeable future. Add to that the concern that in these tricky economic times, Marriott could just cancel their rewards program with little or no notice. So, I decided to see what merchandise they had available. They had a couple cameras, but the only one I really wanted and could see myself using, was the G-10. I recently shipped my G-9 off to parts unknown, and as always, I now wish I had a good P&S. The G-10 fills that bill nicely, I think.

Think of it as free camera. Free is good. Well done :)

The G10 has a nice LCD and ISO dial. A bit chunky though, so not my style. My P&S of choice nowadays is a Lumix FX38. Yup, Panasonic. But the 25mm wide angle is NICE.

Yoda! Welcome back Owlet!

Heck, I remember 16 bit processors with 8-bit data bus. And I was already in computers when they came along.

Save mucho bucks and don't get it there. They're $329 at Micro Center or NewEgg last I looked. The 160 GB HDD version is only $349. But they don't want to run DPP unless you hook up an external monitor; 1024x600's too low res. according to Canon. I have one and added another half gig of RAM to it. It's usable on travel and as a netbook, but the keyboard's not as good as the one on my old Toshiba Libretto (1 GHz Pentium M, 1 GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, and dating to early 2006) which I'm using right now. 1280x768 and it's been to Europe and all over the US in an outside pocket of my camera bag. I do most of my computing on "netbooks" these days.

Thanks :) Yeah, I saw the 16-bit/8-bit coming, except by then I'd typed the post and didn't want to retype ;)

Now we understand why you liked the Libretto so much. I am using the EeePC 901 and it is good! Though while running LR on it I often wish I had the Macbook!
