I have looked through the boards and not found exactly what I was wondering. I have always received great advice before and I"m hoping that someone or a few people can help.

I have a 17" mac book pro and find that my eyes are slowly going from doing so much photo edits.

I am in the market for a high end monitor and rather than look at hardware sites which is more gaming reviews I was interested in hearing from photographers.

I spend a good part of the day in front of the computer doing edits so I am willing to invest in good hardware.

I would like to hear from people who have used or own something that they are happy with.

I have researched the 24" apple displays
LG W3000H-Bn Black 30" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor (external link)

as well as a few others.

any thoughts?

If you want the higest of high end then you want a Quato Intelliproof 260 ex (external link). We've recently got these at work and they are truly stunning in every way.

If you wanted something also very good but a touch cheaper then I'd recommend a Lacie 724 (I love mine) or a EIZO FlexScan SX2761.

Cheaper still I'd go with a Lacie 324 (also love mine) or a NEC MultiSync 2690WUXi.

We used to run 30" monitors at work but everyone complained that they were too big for photo work and no matter how much money we threw at them, they always seemed to have inconsistent backlights across the width of them.

Thanks to all that took the time to provide input. I have narrowed it down to

Thanks from me too. I had narrowed it to Lacie 324 and NEC MultiSync 2690WUXi2 and finally chose the NEC. Looking forward to see it in my office...
