Just curious on how many people still use this camera. My wife brought our G2 back home today as she wanted me to download some pictures she took of her student's projects and i was shocked as to how well the pictures turned out. I'm glad I kept the camera as it has a very solid build and perfect for my wife's classroom use.

I've still got my G2... don't use it much anymore, but it still works like a champ!

I have three, two in chrome color one in black. It's way slow compare to the other G series cameras but it indeed is a solid and well built camera!

Ive been using it for the past 6 years with no problems. I just bought a 30D but the G2 is still a keeper.

I've still got the original G1 that I leave at the hospital for pics and video of patients (don't worry, I'm a veterinarian) - works great and always very sharp.

I have a photographic memory, just wish I'd remember to take the lens cap off more often!

Still have one, shot tons of pictures in course of years. Definitely one of the classic digital cameras of all times, with extremely successful combination of lens, sensor and LCD. Had since EOS Rebel and 5d. Now using G2 mainly as a portable digital copier in library work.
Best wishes

Still using it from time to time, when not wanting (or having enough space) to carry my 40D or 20D + lenses with me :-)

Sorry, but not having time at the moment to take part of the weekly contests any more! But I'm checking the subjects and results occasionally!

Regards, Markku

My G2 was bought in 2002-Dec ($650), served me well till 2005-April till I bought XT ($900). It is still serving me quite well, though I rarely use it.
When I bought only thing I knew that it is a 4MP camera and thats it.
Last month I checked its specs in detail : 1/1.67 CCD sensor with F2.0 To F2.8 Lens WoW!! . How many P&S camera do have this type of lens ?? Even G10 doesn't have this type fast lens. Only Lumix-LX3 has F2.0-2.8 lens, thats too at F2.8 at 60mm. G2 is F2.8 at 105mm.

Count me in....still have one and still takes decent pics. I like it because it uses CF and same batteries as my DSLR's.

2001 G2 checking in. It's been dropped to the concrete twice and taken apart twice to fix a stuck lens but it's still kicking!
