Do you get email confirmation when SterlingTek ship?

I ordered a couple of BP511A equalent batteries from them around Jan 12 or 13th - and the next day I had an email saying they had been out of stock and were expecting a new batch, that was held up in customs at the time of ordering. I was told they would ship out no later than Friday Jan 16th, and now it's the 25th without having heard anything from them... I'll probably try to contact them tomorrow sometime to see what's going on.

I believe some people have received the new batch, so depending on your location they should be with you soon.

Just to follow up on this: I got reply back today after sending them an email (very promtly in fact) - and apparently it was shipped the 19th by USPS International Airmail. The ETA via that shipment method (to Norway) is 2 to 3 weeks, so if I'm lucky I'll have it this week or early next. Considering the time-frame I guess they are flying it over in a hot air balloon - perhaps doing the last bit by ski across the country. GO USPS!

Wee! To my surprise I received them today, much sooner than expected.

Looking at the batteries and the initial order description it looks like I ordered the "wrong" model in the hurry - having selected the BP-511 ones instead of BP-511A. From what I gather, the only difference between the original BP-511 and BP-511A is the capacity anyway - so it shouldn't be a problem.

They seem to work just fine for my 50D, and are 2000mAh/7.4V. Only thing I miss is a bottom cap/cover for when they are not in use, like the one supplied with the original canon batteries. (For safe transport/protection)
