Greetings,
I find this photo very peaceful and has great potential too. I hope you like my edit. I cropped away the blue top part, as it is distracting. I think a simple mono color is better. I used lens blur with gradient mask to decrease the depth of field. Enjoy...

To OP - if you want to allow others to edit your images, as above, please turn on "Image edit and repost permission" in your User Profile ("User CP" in the blue bar under the thread title, then "Edit Profile" and it's in the "Additional Information" section).

I like your original. The tight family is a nice composition; although I'd like to see the whole head of the adult the pup is resting it's head on.

I didn't think to capture the head because I thought it would have taken the focus off of the sleeping pup and added more distraction.
I was standing on a dock walkway about 6 feet above them and back about 100 feet. I looked at all my shots, but not head shot of the adult. I`ll remember that next time...Thanks.

I found one from the same spot, but not as tight. I cropped it down, but the file size is 496KB @ 1024x683. I can`t upload it and have no idea how to reduce it..

This is a really cool shot. The expression on that pup's face is so content.

I like George Chew's frame and crop, but I wouldn't put the fake DOF in.

I would crop below the blue as well..but leave the sharpness to it.
such a sweet look on that little one.

So cute. I'd crop the sky.
EDIT: That's not sky.
I'd crop the sea.

I agree with that, but it is very nice as it is.

I feel the original is fine the way it is.
