Have you even gone to your local camera store looking for one thing but now you want something else?

I went to a new camera store yesterday that had the 85 1.2 lens on display. I have never held or seen it in person until yesterday. All of the pictures and talk about it online do not do it justice, the lens is beautiful (and massive)! Now I have to have it!

Has this happened to you?

Happens all the time, but it is usually started by my "missing something" with my current gear. B&H makes this way too easy. Half hour drive, free parking, tons of glass in display = bad combo.

Name is Peter and here is my gear:
Canon 5D II, Canon 7D, Canon 40D
Glass - Zeiss 21 f/2.8 ZE, Canon 35 f/1.4L, Canon 40 f/2.8 STM, Canon 24-70 f/2.8
L, Canon 85 f/1.2L II, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, Canon 500 f/4L IS
Speedlite 580ex II, 430ex - Gitzo GT-3541XLS w/ Arca B1

Yeah, B&H is to blame for more than one purchase of mine. G-d I love that place.

Nope, I'm immune to going into a camera store and wanting something just because I've seen it. I only want lenses after I do an excessive amount of research about them and make sure that they will be to my liking. (One of my minor OCD characteristics) And I do have a Calumet near me, but I've never gone out of there with anything that I did not intend to buy before entering it.

Apparently I've been dubbed Foxy.

So were you happy with the purchase? I am debating another body or more galss right now.

I have had the 85 1.2 on my mind for some time but to see it in person was special. I had no idea how impressive this lens was.

It sort of happen to me once actually, I bought a Sigma 70-200/2.8 and had some problems with the focusing so I went back to the store to have it replaced or repaired. While I was there I tried Canon's 70-200/2.8 IS, which instantly blew me away, especially the very visible advantage of IS. I had not planned on such an expensive lens at the time but I returned the Sigma on the spot and got the Canon lens instead.

I only ever enter a camera store when I know what I'm looking for. If I didn't I'd be flat broke :)
