I just contacted hp and they are useless!!! I am trying to find icc printer profiles for THEIR printer on THEIR PAPER and they response on the chat was they do not support this issue, since this is a third party issue, I have to contact ICC printer Profile to get this answer. UMM i can not contact printer profile as it is a thing, not a company! Please correct me if i am wrong.

Now for the question! I have an eyeone ( x-rite I1 ) screen calibrator. I see with the software they give with it there is an option (it is greyed out) that can profile a printer. Is there a special tool i need to calibrate my prints, or can i use my screen calibrator , with correct software installed, to profile my printer?

The answer is clearly NO, as the hardware (the calibrator / densitometer) for paper is always different to the one for the screen. Maybe you can use the same software (i do not know you product), but you need additional (and more expensive) hardware.

Creating printer/paper profiles requires quite expensive equipment and because of that, and the fact that custom made profiles are not expensive, I'd suggest you explore that option.

I use a custom made profile for Epson Premium Glossy on my Epson R2880 because I was unhappy with the results on that particular paper using Epsons own profile.

Typically they cost about the price of two ink carts, £20 to £30 here in the UK. Full instructions are given, which must be followed "to the letter", resulting in possibly two prints, which are carefully dispatched in the post and in a few days you will be the owner of your very own profile, made for your printer only and the paper you chose.

It will be necessary to have a different profile made for each paper you use.
