In other words, a different vantage point that eliminated those problems would probably give a more relaxing image.

I've been contemplating whether the best crop would be from the top or from the bottom in order to eliminate the 50/50 split in the frame. I find trade-off consequences from either of the crop considerations. But then again, my compositional insights are mostly from what I've gleened from Bob's analytical critiques of past submissions and I would rely on his assessment here.
