Tripod upgrade suggestions

I used to have a slik tripod, the model number is 340dx, it comes with 3 way pan head.

I want to upgrade to a ball head one, and I am targetting to a manfrotto 190xb with 486rc2 ball head, for about 200 canadian dallors(around 170 USD). I just want to know if there are better options between 200-300 dallors.

my heaviest lens is 70-200 F4L is, and I do not like telphotos. The tripod needs to be under 5 lbs and easy to carry. I mainly use it for night photos.

Night photos demand a sturdy tripod that won't allow the camera/lens to vibrate. If you limit the price or the size/weight, your choice will suffer in that it won't be sturdy.

The Manfrotto 055XPRoB topped off with their 488RC2 ball head would be a significantly better choice than the smaller/lighter 190 and the weaker 486 ball head. This combination is a little more expensive and a little bit heavier but it will be a significantly better performer. Performance is the reason to use a tripod, is it not?
