Thoughts?

Looks a bit underexposed to me, but I'm not sure what to do seeing how cranking up exposure causes the background to blow out..

Edit your profile to allow editing and I'm sure someone will take a shot at it for you. As to how, use a layer mask to crank up the exposure on selected areas only.

I like the original shot as is because it adds a lot more mood to the photo If I was to do anything to the photo I might brighten her face ever so slightly but it is a great concept and shows real determination on your part to call and get the chief to agree to let you shoot this one. She is also a good sport in my opinion. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks Slaterza, several people have reassured me that the darkness matches the mood. I think I will leave it as is, maybe brighten a bit more.
