Honestly, even if you'd rather be safe and not use it (I don't because ours isn't really hoppin' here), the whole of CL isn't a cesspool of worthless scams.

I'm not saying it could never happen but in my 20 years in the business, I've never met anyone who was hired by any other method than

1) Resume - first foot in the door...
2) Word of mouth - You're only as good as your last gig...
3) Neoptism - The less said about this, the better...

Your friend has a strong CV. I'm a big fan of the Dogfight series. Please pass along a "nice work" from a fellow broadcast production tech.
