Here is my first contribution to the Transportation section.

The "Big Mamey" is located in Fall River, MA.

Shot at 122mm f/11 1/1000. Settings may not be what I should use, but I'm still learning. Just let me know what I "should" be using. C&C welcomed and appreciated.

Good to see another piece of history so well preserved.

My only major nit is the time of day you shot this. The harsh shadows are not your friend.

Early morning or late evening perhaps (depending on sun angle) on a tripod with a shutter release might yield better light.

Nine 16" guns firing at once give me a nice, warm feeling! :D

Just let me know what I "should" be using.

You could have dropped the ISO a few settings. Instead of Exposure Mode = auto exposure (0), read this: Post #47
Click the "Thread: Need an exposure crutch?" link at the top-right if you'd like more info on exposure.

thanks for the advice...I'll try to work on it. I live about 10 minutes from Battleship Cove so I'll have to head back there and try again.

At Battleship Cove they also have the USS Lionfish (submarine), and the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr (Gearing Destroyer). It's a very neat place to visit.

Actually, it is "Big Mamie". Just a little typo. My father was on the first crew of that ship and fought in the Battle of Casablanca. The Massachusetts fired the first and last 16" shells of WW II. Thanks for sharing.

I took some shots of some ships in Charleston SC while visiting FT. Sumpter and they are some of my favorites.
