Does anyone know anything about the Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 lens. I know there is no IS and that one would need an adapter to EF, and it would be only manual focus. Would this lens still work fine, much of the shooting would be at infinity anyway. Of course a good solid tripod and something like a Wimberly head would be required. There is on available locally that I could get for $2,000 CDN ($1,600 USD). This is a darn sight better than the the $13,900 CDN the new one goes for.
I can be of no help. I believe it could work with adapter but don't beat the money on me. I also believe you will want to get the adapter that has a lens in it or you will loose the ability to focus to infinity.

The worst part is that a cop watched it happen. I like the line from the blogger about it being airplane insurance rather than car insurance.
