Tonight we'll be under a high risk for severe weather. Hail, Isolated (haha) tornados, damaging winds, torrential rains, and of course lightening.

I love spring in Texas! Even if it isn't quite spring yet!

Fun! Do you still live in a flash flood zone?

I have been a shooter and collector most my life. It fits with the whole "I like things that go boom" personality. Since taking up horses and photography I really don't shoot much or spend money on it anymore. I really like tools and precision instruments so guns fit in.

You'd get along well with my grandfather and uncle. Both collect and shoot regularly. The thing I remember most about my uncle's house was the smell of the oil he used to clean and lubricate his guns. Both grandpa and my uncle packed their own shells, so had lots of interesting equipment containers of shot, and gunpowder.

Yeah, we still have the creek behind us. :) It's gotten spooky a couple times, but so far never flooded us.

We will deffo get a dog when we move into a house...until then, no pets allowed at this apt complex.

Same here. We're technically over the limit with 3 cats, besides, the novelty of a dog will wear off if we have one.

Can't wait to see how he is at the zoo this year. :)

The good news, I suppose, is we have flood insurance, and now our data is being stored at an offsite facility.. So, should anything ever happen ...

I reload also. It can either save money or in my case it allows me to experiment with powder and projectile combinations to create a custom load much more accurate than anything out of a box. I can also meticulously weigh the powder load making very consistent and accurate ammunition. I can seat the projectile in a case custom fit to the chamber of a particular gun making it much more accurate. One more thing I do is go through a process that coats the projectile in molybdenum disulfide. This prevents friction in the barrel, and eliminates copper fouling in the bore, which detracts from accuracy. Can you tell I am all about accuracy?

I have a small lake behind me. It's a man made lake and the normal water level is about 8 feet below my house. Last year when hurricane Gustav and Ike blew in two weeks or so apart and dumped something like 15 inches of rain on our hears between them the lake got within a foot of it's bank but never quite overflowed. My sump pumps were working overtime though.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Awww go get you a goldfish or something you can name. I have to warn you though. Whatever you get is going to die on you:( Unless you are a tortoise kind of guy. They live a long time. How old are you anyhow? I just realized I have no idea.

I brought a black widow home once. They are not common here so I was thrilled to find one in a nursery plant I had brought in from out of state. I put her in a cage and she birthed like 12 million babies the size of a period in the news paper.
